Schedule
Welcome & Intro (20 min)
- Overview of secondary motion fashion, expressive quadrupeds, and workshop goals
- Prior project show and tell from participants.
Mini Keynote + Demos (40 min)
- Talks on expressive robotics, fashion-as-motion, and non-anthropomorphic character.
- Demonstrations of simple kinetic attachments on quadrupeds.
Design Sprint I – Conceptualizing Motion Rigs (45 min)
- Participants prototype sketch and prototype kinetic attachments using lightweight materials (springs, tubes, feathers, wire, fabric, found materials, etc.), guided by organisers.
Design Runway walk (45 min):
- Small groups identify a movement behaviour (trot, arc-turn, recoil, start-stop), then sketch a secondary-motion device that amplifies the dynamics.
Design Sprint 2 - Revision (45 min)
- Improve designs and problems and expand on opportunities found.
Micro-Demos & Documentation (30 min)
- Each group briefly tests or presents their attachment concept on a robot or mock-up. A dedicated walking area will be provided.
- Videography available for those interested.
Closing Session (20 min)
- Synthesis, documentation planning, and invitation to participate in the later fashion performance.
